Nova Eye Care, located in Asheboro, NC, reflects the passion and dedication of Dr. James Kernodle, O.D.

A native of Gibsonville, NC, Dr. Kernodle earned his Biology degree from Villanova University before completing his optometry training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. His clinical experience includes rotations at Carolina Eye Associates in Southern Pines, NC, and Nellis Air Force Base Hospital in Las Vegas, NV.

Joining the practice in 2004, Dr. Kernodle acquired full ownership in 2008, renaming it Nova Eye Care. His vision was to create a practice focused on providing superior, personalized care while standing apart from the growing trend of retail optometry.

“I wanted to elevate the practice to offer unmatched quality and service,” says Dr. Kernodle. “Asheboro’s close-knit community was the perfect place to build relationships with patients and their families.”

Dr. Kernodle’s commitment to excellence is reflected in every aspect of the practice. “Our goal is to provide the highest quality care and continue investing in the best technology and training,” he says.

When not at work, Dr. Kernodle enjoys running local 5Ks, cheering on his son’s soccer team, mountain biking, and supporting Villanova basketball.
